Arts, Culture, & Museums
Grand Junction, Colorado, is home to a wealth of art exhibits, live music and museums. With dozens of art galleries, a year-round outdoor sculpture exhibit known as Art on the Corner and the Western Colorado Center for the Arts, Grand Junction has a vibrant art scene. There are museums for all sorts of interests, including the Dinosaur Journey Museum, the Cross Orchards Historic Site and the Allen Unique Car Museum. After the sun goes down, check out the historic Avalon Theatre, originally built in 1923, which features live music, lectures and stage shows, or the Mesa Theater, which hosts a regular rotation of live music and comedy.
The first sculptures to be part of the Art on the Corner exhibit were installed in 1984. These days some of the sculptures are part of the permanent collection while others are rotated annually.
