Her work as a professional artist and a self-proclaimed obsession with all things artsy make Dianna Fritzler the queen of Grand Junction's cultural scene. After a bit of world travel and forays into the world of public relations, she finally dropped out of the rat race to pursue more creative dreams of being a painter. Let's get this party started!  Things are in high gear right now at the studio getting ready for the awesome spring/summer season of art and culture in the valley.  Next Friday, May 1, is the BIG art auction and fundraiser of year at The Art Center.  Lots of fun, food, wine and winnings will be had by all. The festivities get underway at 5 p.m.

Then the next morning it's up and out the door early to set up for the Annual Spring Grand Valley Studio Tour. Saturday and Sunday, May 2 & 3.  Around 60 artist throughout the valley will participate in the anticipated event by throwing open their studio doors to the public. Tons of great art.  And an opportunity to meet each artist and see the studio where creations happen.  I just got back from the Studio Tour preview party and there is some killer artwork out there!  Check out the Events Calendar on this page for more info. on the tour.  Maps of all the artists' studios are available at The Art Center and lots of other places around town.

THIS weekend is the SoutWest Arbor Fest at Lincoln Park. Great family event with hot food, music and more.  Mesa State College is also finishing up the school year with what always is a great dance concert and some soulfull tunes can be heard from Ray Smith and the Faculty Jazz Quintet at the Moss Performing Arts Center. (Again, check out the events calendar on this website for more info.)

Gotta' go paint!  I'll report back later with updates and more tidbits.  'Til then... have a good one!
