Colorado Mountain Winefest
Sept. 15-18, 2011
The state's oldest and largest wine festival offers one collective toast to the Colorado grape harvest and the state's finest vintages. Enjoy wine and food pairing events, chef demos, grape stomps, winery tours and chocolate and wine tastings, plus plenty of live music.

Sept. 2011
Enlightening, educational and entertaining events abound at this fun-for-all-ages assembly at Cross Orchards. Actors and historians from across the country come to portray some of America's most celebrated cultural icons, and there's plenty of music, food and fun.

Pork & Hops BBQ Challenge
Sept. 9-10, 2011
For this all-American celebration of food, drink and entertainment, 48 professional barbecue teams converge in Grand Junction to compete for $20,000 (and bragging rights). There's also an amateur competition, food vendors, family activities and nine live bands on two stages.

Colorado Pro Rodeo Finals
Sept. 16-18, 2011
Watch the cowboys and cowgirls of the Colorado Professional Rodeo Association as they compete to be champion of activities such as bull riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling and more.

Tour de Vineyards
Sept. 17, 2011
Tour Colorado's Wine Country on a 25-mile ride through the scenic vineyards of the Western Slope. You'll cruise on paved roads with a few hills, passing by the area's wineries and acres of fruit orchards. The tour is held in conjunction with the Colorado Mountain Winefest.

Western Colorado Triathlon
Sept. 17, 2011
Savor the fall air as you swim, bike and run through Highline State Park in Mack, Colorado, with the Book Cliff Mountains and Colorado National Monument in the backdrop. The USA Triathlon-sanctioned course includes a 0.9-mile swim, 24-mile bike ride and 6.2-mile trail run.
