Have a wine tasting event
Have a wine tasting event
Numerous indoor and outdoor venues in the Grand Junction, Colorado, area host groups year-round.

Grand Junction and Palisade boast a rich agricultural heritage and now make up Colorado's premier wine area. Nearly 20 wineries can provide private tours, tastings or catered winemaker dinners for your meeting or group, either by taking over a tasting room or in a private party room with additional warm-weather options.

Two Rivers Winery & Chateau, a family-owned working winery, has a small inn and a 4,700-square-foot conference and events center with an outdoor pavilion. Grande River Vineyards can host 50 guests for a sit-down dinner, up to 300 for a standing reception and 500 on the outdoor lawn.

Amy's Courtyard at the Maison la Belle Vie winery specializes in seasonal catered events on its lovely grounds. St. Kathryn Cellars, Talon Winery, Confre Cellars and the Meadery of

the Rockies are under the same ownership; inquire about a combination tasting event. St. Kathryn Cellars' commodious tasting room doubles as an event center, and Peach Street Distillers puts on private tastings of their unique spirits.

The Museum of Western Colorado operates three unique venues. Dinosaur Journey in Fruita, west of Grand Junction, appeals to dino-crazy children and also accommodates adult groups with private tours and rental of the 1,350-square-foot auditorium with classroom seating for up to 25. For something out of the ordinary, have the museum organize a private dinosaur dig for the group.

Cross Orchards Historic Site on Grand Junction's outskirts is a seasonal living history museum that offers experiences of Colorado's Grand Valley in the early 20th century, complete with costumed interpreters, historic buildings, antique farm equipment and a restored caboose. The historic packing shed, enclosed on three sides and now with

a new roof, accommodates groups, and tents on the commodious ground also make for a memorable function site.

The third venue, Museum of the West, is located in downtown Grand Junction and is also able to accommodate groups. Guests will discover an arrary of exhibits ranging from Native American pottery to old Western firearms collections.

The spectacular, scenic Colorado National Monument is one of Grand Junction's most popular venues for groups. The top site for reunions, memorial services and other celebrations is the Book Cliff View area. Picnic facilities at Saddlehorn Campground and Devil's Kitchen include tables and grills, and the Saddlehorn Amphitheater seats 250. Even a scenic drive along the 23-mile Rim Rock Drive, with stops to gaze at dramatic canyon and cliff views, makes for a worthwhile excursion.

Colorado Alpine & Desert Adventures leads hikes through the Monument and other public lands. For super team building, they also offer beginning rock-climbing instruction. As a reminder, the Colorado National Monument has permitting requirements for group use, as it's under the National Park Service's jurisdiction.
