Once the summer hunting grounds of the Ute Indian Tribe, Redstone became a booming coal mining town in the early 1900s. Today, only the coke ovens remain along Colorado State Highway 133, but the spectacular scenery of the Crystal River Valley continues to draw and inspire artists.
