Spiral galaxy 2.73M light-years from Earth and member of the Local Group, 61,000 light-years in diameter, sometimes mis-called “Pinwheel” but not to be confused with M101, the Pinwheel Galaxy; contains one of only emission Nebula that can be seen in any galaxy (NGC 604) as can be seen in the lower left-hand side of the picture
