Simple Smoked Turkey

Turkey Rub:

3  tablespoons  brown sugar 

1  tablespoon  kosher salt 

2  teaspoons  ground cumin 

2  teaspoons  dried oregano 

2  teaspoons  dried sage 

2  teaspoons  dry ground mustard 

2  teaspoons  smoked paprika 

1  teaspoon  dried thyme 

1  teaspoon  ground coriander  

 

Wash and dry 13-15 pound turkey 

Rub with butter 

Rub Turkey with the rub 

 

Preheat smoker to 250 degrees 

Place Turkey on the grate in the cake pan (do not cover) (you can use drippings for gravy) 

Insert temp. probe

Close the lid until the internal temperature reaches 170 degrees 

 

Remove from the smoker and wait 15 minutes before carving
