Cool Entertainment at The Avalon Theatre

The historic Avalon Theater is a hub of culture and entertainment in Grand Junction, CO

The historic Avalon Theatre is a long-time local favorite for entertainment in Grand Junction. When it’s hot outside, moviegoers head inside to take in The Avalon’s foreign and independent films, dance, theatrical and musical performances.

Situated at the east end of the Downtown Shopping Park in Grand Junction, The Avalon Theatre is a popular family and date-night attraction. In fact, since Grand Junction is centrally located between Denver and Salt Lake City, the theatre has seen numerous world-renowned artists. Bryan Adams, Lyle Lovett, John Prine, Pat Benetar, Gordon Lightfoot, and Al Jolson are just a few performers who have graced The Avalon Theatre’s stage.

The Avalon provides a very intimate entertainment experience. The acoustics are renowned and there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. If you want to experience a unique and intimate Colorado concert experience, The Avalon Theatre offers a lineup of country, folk, rock and more.

Movies at The Avalon Theatre are quite a treat as well. Every Tuesday the theatre hosts the popular Dinner and a Movie. All you have to do is dine at any of Downtown Grand Junction’s tasty restaurants and bring your dinner receipt to The Avalon for two free admission tickets to the movie showing that evening. Movies vary greatly, but for Dinner and a Movie they show oldies-but-goodies like Ghostbusters and Jaws. Between the great variety of downtown restaurants (brew pubs, sushi, Nepalese, Italian and more) and the relaxing and cool atmosphere of The Avalon Theatre, you can’t lose.
