Treasure Hunters Rejoice! Visit Grand Junction shares the story of a Downtown Grand Junction treasure: A Robin's Nest.
---
We are Shane and Robin Allerheiligen and we have been married for over 23 years. We've owned 18 different businesses, some of these were successful and others were not, but we learned something from every one of them. One of the best things we have learned is that we work very well together.
Early on in our marriage, we moved all over the Southwest from Gallup, New Mexico, to Flagstaff, Arizona and then to Phoenix, before coming to Colorado. Finally, we were able to return to where our hearts and family resided, in our hometown of Grand Junction, Colorado. We have raised our family here since 2002 and we never want to live anywhere else.
The long-awaited opportunity to own an antique store presented itself in 2011. We were able to take over a small underperforming antique store from a retiring couple. We gave the store a much-needed facelift and added a larger variety of new inventory. Our experience with numerous business models has helped us to establish A Robin’s Nest. We have created a delightful store with treasures from around the country attracting thousands of customers from around the globe.
The antique market is ever-changing and we believe it is changing in our favor. A store that sells a wide variety of antique, vintage, architectural salvage, steampunk, retro and collectibles is necessary to stay current with the latest trends and entice a new younger group of collectors. A Robin’s Nest of Antiques is not your grandma’s antique store!
We believe that the newly expanded A Robin’s Nest of Antiques and Treasures will be a destination store and attract visitors to Grand Junction. We are on the way to everywhere! Whether visitors are on their way to California, Denver, Phoenix, Yellowstone, Salt Lake, National Parks of Utah, the Four Corners; make us a stop on your route.
Here is the really exciting part - we are the largest antique mall between Denver and Las Vegas (that’s 750 miles!). 80% of our current customers are from out of town, 99% of our internet sales are out of state. 70% of our Facebook likes live out of town. A Robin’s Nest is a great Grand Junction exporter. We like to think that we are economically stimulating 60 independent small business owners.
Grand Junction has so much to offer, and we believe more visitors will now want to treasure hunt in our wonderful area. If you are ready for your next treasure hunt, come see us. We’ll be here, ready to talk antiques and amazing finds. Find our website here.
Java Junction Coffee House has moved into The Nest. Great coffee and great antiques in the same place.
Historic Downtown Grand Junction, is currently home to A Robin’s Nest of Antiques & Treasures. We are currently located at 602 Main Street. Being on this scenic street and hub of Grand Junction’s community activities are essential to our success.
