Love music? Love wine? Love nature? Then there's only one place to be this summer: At a vineyard concert in Grand Junction. There are a variety of choices available, including a monthly series, "Jazz Among the Grapevines" at Two Rivers Winery, and the weekly series, "Heard it Through the Grapevine" hosted by Grande River Vineyards.
The summer concert series is a tradition at Grande River Vineyards, which has hosted entertaining summer concerts since 1994. Held next to the winery, these concerts offer up diverse music, incredible views of the Bookcliffs and surrounding valley and, of course, a wonderful selection of wine. The topping on the cake is they benefit area nonprofits.
The Grande River Vineyards weekend shows showcase talented bluegrass, rock, country bands and more. There's even a waltz thrown in occasionally for good measure - check the Grande River website for the latest details.
Food and beverages (including wine, of course) are available for purchase; or you can bring a picnic (although, no outside beverages are allowed). Bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on, perhaps an umbrella, some bug spray and a group of your music-loving friends.
Music lovers won't want to miss out on the monthly concerts at Two Rivers Winery, known as Jazz Among the Grapevines. Presented in partnership with the Art Center Guild, the series showcases some of the best local and regional talent who play for an appreciative audience as the sun sets over the vineyard. Wine is available for sale during the events, and attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy during the show. A blanket or lawn chairs are also encouraged. Gates open at 6pm and music starts at 7pm. Tickets are $15. The Jazz Among the Grapevines line-up for 2016 includes an eclectic mix of musical styles.
Garfield Estates also hosts a monthly music series. In addition to live bands, visitors are treated to sangria and wine spritzer specials as well as tasty treats from a food truck. Call 970-464-0941 for more details.
