Visiting a farmers market is one of the most genuine ways to connect with the heart of a community – where local growers, artisans, and neighbors come together over seasonal products, handmade goods, and shared stories. The Grand Junction area hosts several farmers markets, all with their own charm so it’s worth checking them all out. They are located in Downtown Grand Junction, historical sites, and neighboring towns – Palisade and Fruita. Bonus: The number one comment guests from out of town share is how friendly the locals are! Don’t be shy while hanging out with the residents, they are always happy to refer you to their favorite place to eat or favorite hidden gems in the area!

The Market on Main, Grand Junction farmers market occurs every Thursday night starting in July and going until late September! From July 10 to August 14, 2025, the market is open from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and from August 21 to September 25, 2025, the market hours are 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This market is located in Downtown Grand Junction, on Main Street from 3rd to 7th street.
Farmers proudly show off their bounty, fresh-picked just minutes from the market. The Grand Junction area is known as Colorado’s breadbasket – rolling fields and orchards surround the city and are nourished by the Grand Mesa’s lakes and reservoirs, as well as the Colorado River. The star of the show is the famous Palisade Peach. We guarantee you have never experienced a more juicy and sweet peach than the Palisade Peach. And yes, Georgia, we see you.
There are many artists who show off their creative talent, from jewelry and clothing to woodwork and painting. They love to share their inspiration behind each piece, making it even more memorable and meaningful for you. Other common items are natural body care, like soaps and lotions, home décor, seeds, and plant starters to get your garden growing.
Many of the Downtown shops and restaurants have extended hours during this time, so you can pop in and find quality baby clothing and educational toys from Colorado Baby, or pick up a sweet treat from Colorado Q, Baker’s Boutique & Gelato Junction. They also have a food truck near 7th Street with mouthwatering BBQ! If you’re looking for a patio to grab a beer and relax while the market hums around you, Rockslide Restaurant & Brewery is a local favorite. They are a cornerstone, having been the first microbrewery to open in Grand Junction over 30 years ago. That means they have celebrated three decades of brewing and community spirit since 1994!
While strolling through the vendor area, be sure to pop over to the sidewalks and marvel at the 115 sculptures and murals that are part of Art on the Corner. This art installation was one of the first of its kind in the U.S. and began in 1984 when Dave Davis and local artists installed 26 sculptures overnight, launching a year-round outdoor exhibit to revitalize Downtown. The program has since grown with a mix of permanent pieces and annually rotating works to keep the experience fresh and exciting.
Do you have a fur buddy you want to bring? Just be sure to leash Fido up and be cautious of the pavement temperatures, which can be upwards of 30 degrees hotter than the temperature outside. Plan to make a pit stop at a shaded patio – visit Bistro 317, an authentic French restaurant operated by a father‑and‑son duo, of French descent. So yes, expect authentic, made from the heart cuisine. They are famous for their bakery items as well. Locals sell out their cheesecake on a regular basis so grab a slice if you are lucky enough to get there in time.
Bonus: Stop by the Visit Grand Junction booth on Main and 6th Street. You will find a variety of lawn games, water misters to cool you off, chalk art, FREE popsicles and Enstrom Toffee, and several friendly Volunteer Ambassadors who are happy to help you with any questions you might have. The giant Jenga, cornhole, and Connect Four games will keep you entertained for a good while!
