The Grand Junction Area Remains Open
A wildfire is currently affecting a limited area of western Mesa County near the Utah border.
At this time, the Grand Junction area remains open for visitors. Downtown Grand Junction, Fruita, Palisade, Grand Mesa, Colorado National Monument, local wineries, restaurants, hotels, shops, and most outdoor recreation areas continue operating as normal.
Smoke conditions across the destination have generally remained minimal, although visibility and air quality may change throughout the day depending on wind direction and fire activity.
We encourage visitors to check this page and official agency resources before traveling to recreation areas.

McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area
The Bureau of Land Management has temporarily closed the entire McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area, along with adjacent BLM-managed lands north of DS Road and west of 16½ Road, due to the Snyder Mesa Fire.
The closure will remain in effect until fire officials determine the area is safe to reopen.
Please respect all closure orders and avoid entering restricted areas.
River Updates
Colorado Parks & Wildlife closed boat ramps at the James M. Robb - Fruita Section and Loma Boat Launch State Wildlife Area.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife has posted signage at the Blue Heron Boat Ramp advising river users that the Loma Boat Ramp is closed for all launches and take-outs due to wildfire activity downstream. River users should plan to take out in Fruita, which is currently the last available take-out location before the closure.
Trail and/or Road Updates
16 5/10 Road to Glade Park is closed at Monument Road & Rim Rock Drive.
Mesa County Sherriff's Office is extending road closures to the Kokopelli Trail Road between Loma and Mack, Colorado.
