Andre LaRoche, a writer for Camping Caravanning Magazine, highlighted Grand Junction in the article "Les Splendeurs du Colorado".

The article says, "As a base camp, the small town of Grand Junction, located halfway between Denver and Salt Lake City, stands in a class of its own. Built at the junction of the Colorado and Gunnison Rivers, it is surrounded by three large protected natural areas: Colorado National Monument, Grand Mesa National Forest, and Rattlesnake Arches.

It’s no surprise to see kayaks, canoes, road and mountain bikes, and just about every other outdoor sport gear on most of the vehicles you come across. It seems there’s always a new spot to explore in the area.

Local product enthusiasts are also well taken care of. The orchards of Palisade, situated in a valley with a climate favorable to fruit growing, offer the best peaches, pears, plums, apricots, and apples in the entire state. Wine lovers aren’t left out either, since around thirty vineyards await them with wines classified under the Grand Valley appellation.
