Broadway is on Stage in Grand Junction! 

Experience the magic of Broadway at the Asteria Theatre. The 2026–27 Broadway Series brings seven acclaimed productions to Grand Junction, including The Wiz, Legally Blonde, STOMP, Clue, Mystic Pizza, Waitress and Shucked. From Tony Award-winning musicals and high-energy percussion performances to laugh-out-loud comedies and beloved classics, the season offers something for every theatergoer. A night at the Asteria Theatre is the perfect finale to a day of exploring the Grand Junction area. 

  

Annual Event 

Raise a glass at Colorado Mountain Winefest Colorado’s premier wine festival celebrating the vineyards, wineries and flavors of Colorado Wine Country. Set among the scenic orchards and vineyards of Palisade, this signature event invites guests to sip award-winning wines, meet the passionate winemakers behind each vintage, enjoy local cuisine, live entertainment, artisan vendors and unforgettable views of the surrounding mesas. As the festival enters an exciting new chapter, guests can look forward to an elevated experience that celebrates the craftsmanship, community and distinctive character that make Colorado wine unlike anywhere else. 

  

Concerts & Live Music  

Grand Junction’s live music scene spans historic theaters, intimate venues and outdoor stages. The Avalon Theatre and Mesa Theater host concerts, movies, comedy shows and special events in the heart of downtown. Smaller venues like Warehouse25sixty-five and WestCo Brewing create more intimate settings, while the Amphitheater at Las Colonias Park draws crowds for outdoor concerts and community events along the Colorado River. 

  

Family-Friendly Events  

Family-friendly events take place throughout the year. Downtown comes alive with events like Market on Main, while Las Colonias Park hosts local festivities, celebrations and outdoor events.   

Pack a blanket and head to Glade Park for an unforgettable evening at Movies Under the Stars. Just 30 minutes from Grand Junction, this family-friendly tradition combines the charm of an outdoor movie with classic summer fun. Arrive early to enjoy hayrides, volleyball, cornhole, relay races, tetherball, bingo and a delicious, and affordable, barbecue dinner before the movie begins at dusk. Fresh popcorn, homemade treats from the Glade Park locals and a sky full of stars make this community event a memorable way to experience the laid-back spirit of Glade Park. 

  

Getting Creative with Arts and History 

Experience Downtown Grand Junction at its liveliest during First Friday, when galleries, studios and local businesses stay open late with artist demonstrations, live music, refreshments and special exhibits. During August and September 2026 First Friday, make the evening even more memorable by joining a FREE guided Legends of the Grand Valley walking tour. Stroll through Downtown as local guides share the stories of the pioneers, innovators and visionaries who shaped Grand Junction while visiting the larger-than-life sculptures and monuments that honor their legacies. 

History comes to life on Thursday evenings during the Downtown Market on Main, too. Before or after browsing local produce, artisan vendors, food trucks and live entertainment, join the free Legends of the Grand Valley walking tour. Tours run July 9 through September 24, 2026, begin at 7:00 p.m., meet at the Rex Howell Sculpture & Mural (612 Main St.), last approximately one hour, and offer a fascinating glimpse into the people and stories that built Grand Junction. 

  

Sporting Event 

Ride one of the West’s most iconic cycling events at the Tour of the Moon, a ride made famous during the 1980s Coors Classic and later featured in the cycling film American Flyers. Beginning in Downtown Grand Junction, both routes take cyclists on an unforgettable climb through Colorado National Monument, where towering sandstone monoliths, dramatic red rock canyons, and sweeping canyon vistas create one of the country’s most spectacular road rides. Choose the 41-mile Classic Loop through the monument or challenge yourself with the 64-mile Metric Century, which continues through Fruita, Loma, and the region’s scenic agricultural landscapes before returning to Downtown. Registration is limited to 2,200 riders, making early registration essential for this bucket-list cycling experience. As always, safety first!

Experience Grand Junction Year-Round 

No matter the season, there's always something happening in the Grand Junction area. Spring kicks off with the JUCO World Series, where the nation’s top junior college baseball teams compete for a national championship at Suplizio Field, creating an electric atmosphere for baseball fans. 

Summer brings patriotic celebrations, including the Fourth of July Parade, live entertainment and one of Colorado’s largest fireworks displays over Lincoln Park. Throughout the season, cheer on the Grand Junction Razorback Suckers, whose Pioneer League games combine exciting baseball with family-friendly promotions, themed nights and fireworks. 

As summer winds down, the Mesa County Fair celebrates the region’s rich agricultural heritage with livestock shows, carnival rides, rodeo events, live entertainment and local exhibits that showcase the best of Western Colorado. 

When winter arrives, Downtown Grand Junction transforms into a festive wonderland during the Parade of Lights.  

Thousands gather along Main Street as illuminated floats, marching bands and Santa Claus usher in the holiday season beneath more than a million twinkling lights. No matter when you visit, Grand Junction’s year-round calendar offers unforgettable experiences that bring the community together and give visitors another reason to return.
